CUNA
Family Indemnity Plan (FIP)
The Family Indemnity Plan is a group life insurance coverage that provides cash benefit in the event of the death of an insured person. It is designed to cover the final expenses of Credit Union members and their eligible family members.
Eligible family members include:
- The Member
- The Member's spouse or "significant other"
- The Member's parents or the parents of the Member's spouse or "significant other" who have not reached 76
- The Member's dependent children aged 1-25. Children who are permanently disabled are covered for the duration of their life once they are enrolled before age 26.
The advantages of the Family Indemnity Plan include:
- No medical examinations are required
- Lifetime Insurance Coverage
- Claim payments are made within 48 hours of receipt of the claim
There is a 6 month waiting period before the plan is approved. If anyone dies during the waiting period, claims would not be received, unless the death was an accidental one.
The FIP Plan allows you 2 years from the time of death to claim, however, CUNA will not compensate you if you die as a result of criminal activities.
Eastern provides this benefit to our Members in collaboration with CUNA Caribbean Insurance Society Limited, an insurer that provides products and services designed exclusively for credit union Members.

EPL Properties Ltd coordinates the facilities management of all (9) nine branches within the Eastern Credit Union network, as well as La Joya and the Sporting Complex.
Main Hall & Poolside
The multi-purpose Hall can accommodate up to six hundred persons (600) and is ideally suited for large weddings, receptions, parties, dinners, graduations, annual meetings and corporate events. The hall opens out to the poolside, where the scenery of the Northern range serves as a lovely backdrop. Interior space planning can be arranged upon request.
The Gymnasium
The gymnasium is a unique facility within the Sporting Complex which encompasses a range of sporting and fitness activities such as aerobics, weight training, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, netball and dance, all under one roof. New programs such as karate, spin and Zumba have been added and dedicated instructors are employed for your benefit. The operating hours of the Complex are convenient for everyone.
The Pool Area
The pool area comprises of a small pool suitable for infants and toddlers, as well as a full adult pool. Water activities include swimming lessons and aqua fitness. Our dedicated swimming instructors and personnel are available within specialized hours of operation. Classes are available to both children and adults.
Courtyard of the Artisans
The Courtyard of the Artisans captures the British, French, Spanish and Caribbean architecture of the facility. It encompasses a unique mixture of residential and commercial artisan units, with a central courtyard.
It accommodates up to two hundred (200) patrons and is ideal for outdoor shows, breakfasts and mid-morning brunches.
Auditorium
The three hundred and forty-seven (347) seating auditorium is state-of-the art, with modern, acoustical devices. The comfortable theatre-style seating is arranged in a semi-circular design; the area is fully carpeted, air-conditioned and is ideal for plays, shows, graduation ceremonies and conferences.
Conference Facility
The indoor facility can accommodate up to two hundred (200) persons, with equipment required for general meetings, workshops and small seminars. Video and voice-conferencing options are available upon request. The exquisite view of the Northern range from the conference balcony also makes this space attractive for wedding receptions and special functions. It offers the option of a separate Private Room against the backdrop of the swimming pool.
